Benei is a variety representative of Fukui Prefecture, the largest production area on the Sea of Japan coast. Although it is a variety that can withstand severe cold, it is sensitive to heat, and production has been on the decline due to global warming in recent years.

At Choya, we harvest the fruit after it has reached a certain stage of ripeness, so we can offer it with a strong sour taste. It has an orange peel-like scent and a silky texture.
