Plum details

Beni Ume is a wild variety cultivated in Ogose Town, Saitama Prefecture. In the Ogose plum grove, 200 old plum trees are carefully preserved, and in order to stabilize the quality, three standard trees are selected and seedlings are made from them.

The aroma is best when it is slightly before full ripeness, so we select and harvest it for Choya. This plum is characterized by its soft fruit and wild acidity.

How to make a butterfly plum kit

Making the butterfly plum kit is very easy!

STEP1

Dry the washed bottle and remove the stem from the frozen plum.

STEP2

Add all the plums and sugar alternately to the bottle.

STEP3

In the case of plum wine, pour the sake at the end. (M size: 120ml, L size: 240ml)

*Please be sure to pour alcohol with an alcohol content of 20% or more.

Ogose plum grove is considered one of the three major plum groves in Kanto. Its history dates back to the Nanbokucho period. Surrounded by mountains, the climate has a large temperature difference between summer and winter, and the stony, well-drained soil is suitable for growing plums, and approximately 100 growers have grown the wild and endemic variety Beni-ume. It has been passed down with great care.
