With a berry-like flavor and gentle tartness, these marshmallows make the perfect snack.
【Recipe】(Serves 2 / Cooking time: 20 minutes )
- 160 ml ume syrup
- 8 g powdered gelatin
- 1 egg white
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
1.Warm the ume syrup in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add powdered gelatin, and stir until dissolved.
2.In a bowl, whisk the egg white until stiff peaks form.
3.Add the syrup mixture (step 1) into the whipped egg white and mix thoroughly.
(If the syrup mixture has cooled, reheat slightly before adding.)
4.Line a tray or container with parchment paper and dust with cornstarch. Pour in the mixture from step 3, sprinkle more cornstarch on top, and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until set.
(Be sure to pour the mixture into the tray while still warm.)
5.Once set, dust your cookie cutter with cornstarch and cut into shapes. Coat the cut sides with cornstarch to prevent sticking. Ready to enjoy!
With just a few ingredients, this is an easy recipe for making homemade ume marshmallows—perfect for a quick snack.
